Hanna pHep pH testers for Application-Based Model Selection
These products are often used for routine testing, inspection, and quality-control workflows, where the right choice often depends on differences in configuration, range, portability, and application fit.
How do you use Hanna Phep?
This compact pH testing device is utilized by millions globally for measuring pH in labs and industrial settings, as well as in agriculture, aquaculture, food production and quality assessment, swimming facilities, and the printing sector.
A universal pH meter anyone can use
HI98127 (pHep®4) and HI98128 (pHep®5) are waterproof pH and temperature meters. The housing has been completely sealed against humidity and designed to float. All pH readings are automatically temperature compensated (ATC), and temperature values can be displayed in °C or °F units.
The pHep’s ease of use in combination with its affordability made it possible for non-technical and technical personnel alike to measure pH on the spot, accurately and inexpensively, throughout a variety of industries.
The pHep4 and pHep5 include features such as a dual-level LCD, battery level indicator, replaceable pH electrode cartridge, stability indicator, automatic shut-off and automatic calibration all in a floating, waterproof casing.
The pHep4 and pHep5 use the exclusive cartridge pH electrode. Electrode replacement with the stainless steel round connector means there are no pins to bend or break during replacement.
The pHep’s replaceable electrode has a pull-out cloth junction. When the cloth junction becomes dirty from routine testing, simply pull out 3 mm (1/8”) to rejuvenate the electrode.
The pHep4 and pHep5’s exposed temperature sensor provides fast response time, and its proximity to the pH electrode guarantees much more accurate temperature-compensated readings.

HANNA pH TESTERS - HOW TO USE
Setup mode allows the selection of temperature unit and pH buffer set. To enter the Setup mode, press the /MODE button until “CAL” on the secondary display is replaced by “TEMP” and the current temperature unit (E.g. “TEMP °C”). Then:
- °C / °F selection: Use the SET/HOLD button. After the temperature unit has been selected, press the /MODE button to enter the buffer set selection mode; press the /MODE button twice to return to the normal measuring mode.
- To change the calibration buffer set: After setting the temperature unit, the meter will show the current buffer set: “pH 7.01 BUFF” (for pH 4.01 / 7.01 / 10.01) or “pH 6.86 BUFF” (for NIST 4.01 / 6.86 / 9.18). Change the set with the SET/HOLD button, then press /MODE to return to normal measuring mode.
